Honors Choirs

MSVMA offers rewarding opportunities to sing in honors choirs for grades 6-7-8-9 and high school students. To be considered for participation in an honors choir, students must audition. Those auditioning must be enrolled and in good standing in their school's vocal music program. Their school must be a member of MSVMA.

Congratulations to the 2025 - 2026 State Honors Choirs Directors!

MSVMA is pleased to announce the selection of its Honors Choirs directors including:

Andrea Gay, 6-7-8 SA

Kyle Cain, 7-8-9 TTB

Jacob Berglin, 7-8-9 SSA

Matthew Smith, HS TTBB

Ashley Ward, HS SSAA

Jim Borst, HS SATB

Best wishes to these gifted directors and their talented singer's success as they enjoy and learn from

Honors Choirs preparation and participation.

  •    Potential candidates must be MSVMA members and can be from any educational level.
  •    Potential candidates must have taught a minimum of seven years with two years at the same academic level.
  •    The choirs of potential candidates must have received a large proportion of Excellent final determinations at           district or state festivals.
