We seek a spiritually mature person who is comfortable at the organ and piano, and loves to work with a dedicated adult choir. And, we've just added more budget$ to the position!

The position is primarily a ministry rather than a Sunday performance. Enjoyment of making music together is what keeps our choir members coming back each week; and the congregation knows and appreciates this.

Uplifting music is important to our principal worship service. The Organist/Choir Director leads both congregational and choral singing at our 1 O a.m. Sunday service. Typically such music includes prelude, postlude, several hymns and the service-music particular to the Eucharist; one main anthem at the Offertory and usually two short pieces - a quick Introit, and a meditative piece during Communion.

During the "program year" mid Sept. through early June, our volunteer choir rehearses one night per week and sings at the 10:00 am service. During the summer, the choir is "off." The contract would reflect the 9 month / 3 month difference in time expected.

Available instruments are a Yamaha baby-grand piano and a Rogers hybrid organ. The choir room as a relativelynew upright.

We own 3 octaves of hand-bellsa, a set of hand chimes, and are blessed to have a volunteer conductor.

Skill and experience working with adult volunteer choir(s).

Working with children also a plus, as we would like to include them occasionally, from the Sunday School program.

Skill and experience at hymn accompaniment, on organ and piano.

Christian faith commitment, willing to pray with choir as part of rehearsal time.

Sense of humor and joy in making music. Collaborative skills in planning hymns and seasonal worship elements with the Rector.

As innovative leaders in vocal music education, we provide experiences to inspire our diverse community.
Our vision is to reach the hearts of all people through song.
