For the last 44 years, The Hillsdale Arts Chorale has set an unrivaled standard of excellence for small community chorales. This eclectic group of 30-35 auditioned volunteer singers has performed a wide range of choral works for the enjoyment of the residents of Hillsdale County and beyond.

The Conductor of the Hillsdale Arts Chorale is responsible for the following:

 Choosing repertoire for the annual 4-concert season (generally October, December, March,

May), utilizing existing library resources and new offerings from the choral marketplace.

 Maintaining an adequate number of qualified singers to support the repertoire through auditions.

 Leading the weekly rehearsals (currently Monday 7:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. – September through May)

 Identifying and retaining (as needed by the repertoire) guest soloists, chamber orchestra personnel, special groups, instrumentalists, etc.

 Attending meetings of the Board of Directors (generally 5 – 6 meetings per year).

Support staff includes Greg Bailey, Executive Director, who is responsible for fundraising, publicity, and general administration, and the highly-talented Kristi Gautsche, Accompanist, who is responsible for all piano/organ accompaniments at rehearsals and concerts.

The current compensation is $8,000 (reported on a Form 1099), but is negotiable based upon qualifications.

Interested parties should submit an application to one of the addresses listed below, including a resume and a CD (or electronic file) from a recent performance that you have conducted, if available.

Applications are due May 1. A decision will be made by June 15.

    Greg Bailey, Executive Director
