Events for the Virtual Choral Festival will be "Comments Only".
 

• Students should be enrolled in grades 6 to 12 and be part of a member school's vocal music program.
• Choirs typically must be comprised of 17 or more students. However, large ensembles (6-20 singers) are welcome to participate in the virtual choral festival this year.
• The submission fee for each event is $25.
• The deadline to register and pay is March 15. Purchase orders are accepted.
• Fees are non-refundable.
• No late registrations will be accepted.
• On March 16, a Dropbox request for video submissions will be sent to paid registrants.
• Video submissions are due by March 31.

Cultural Advocacy Network of Michigan Advocacy Day

Schedule of Events

The Cultural Advocacy Network of Michigan represents statewide cultural organizations by advocating on their behalf in the Michigan Legislature.
By participating in Advocacy Day, you will help establish a presence for cultural organizations in state government and be able to develop strong relationships with your local legislative leaders. Attendees will gain insight into the processes related to policy-making and appropriations from individuals involved with such work on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, Advocacy Day provides a venue for you to network with members of other statewide cultural organizations, creating opportunities for collaboration in the future.

Thursday, March 11th 

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM       Kickoff Webinar

During the kickoff, we will walk through all the logistics and talking points that will be discussed during the legislative meetings which will occur the following day.

Friday, March 12th 

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM         Legislative Meetings                             

All meetings will be virtual. Each attendee will receive a link to be able to join the meeting prior to the event. Kelley Cawthorne will arrange all appointments with legislators for individual members of each association. Please note that legislative visits are sometimes difficult to secure and all visits are coordinated to the best of the staff’s ability.
