Michigan Youth Arts Festival Choral
Outstanding Choirs

Up to two choirs will be chosen by blind audition to perform at the Friday Gala Concert of the Michigan Youth Arts Festival. 

Eligibility

  • Member high school choirs of 25 singers in any voicing may submit an audition recording for consideration.
  • Recordings must be work from the current school year and include three selections of contrasting styles, one of which must be a cappella.
  • Audition recordings must be emailed to Virginia Kerwin at kerwin@msvma.org by April 1, 2017.
  • Applications forms must be submitted online by April 1, 2017.

Participation
Directors from chosen choirs will receive information regarding forms, costs, schedules and the Gala Concert.  letter of congratulations will be mailed to each selected choir's director, his/her principal and superintendent. A plaque will be presented to participating choirs and each student will receive a certificate. 

All-State Honors Choir

The All-State Honors Choir is composed of the top 100-120 students from the State Honors Choir auditions. This SATB choir rehearses Thursday through Saturday and performs at the Saturday afternoon Honors Concert.
